Air filters need replacement every 25,000 to 50,000 miles. A choked air filter will restrict air flow to the engine which can lead to reduced power along with an increase in fuel consumption. Spark plugs may also require replacement. This component is inexpensive but is the most important piece for engine tuning. Most manufacturers recommend the replacements of spark plugs every 30,000 to 50,000 miles although long life units boast of having a lifespan of up to 100,000 miles.
